- Restoration of Antique paper

Silvia Gazzina and Rita Scarselli work since 1995 in their restoration laboratory of paper and parchment materials. A particular attention is dedicated to advising, cataloging and planning of restorative interventions. Daily the laboratory faces different restoration techniques , mainly preservative, interventions and reversible materials, keeping in mind the nature of the piece without modifying the original function. They do recuperations of original bindings, dry and vapor cleaning, various sewing and binding techniques of antique and modern books. The laboratory is specialized in restoration of printings, drawings, paper paintings and parchment. The two artisans offer their services not only to the public sector but also to private clients, with the making of faithful reproductions of antique bindings, spawned by an accurate research in the most remote libraries and secret archives of Tuscany.
